What if Spain picked Sikorsky S-70 Black Hawk in the late 80s?

I attended the excellent third running European Rotors end of last month this time, held in Madrid. One of the highlights and second time I saw was Slovak Training Academy UH-60A Blackhawk in firefighting configuration so my photos below

As it is in the late 1980s, the

as it was in the mid to late 80s, according to Paul Beaver's Modern Military Helicopters he wrote, Spain had selected it and then rejected on political reasons

So guess the FAMET Fuerzas Aeromóviles del Ejército de Tierra, to this day mgiht not have got the NH90 TTH....

Any thoughts please?
