I'd suggest it was good news that they didnt, as the Valiants didnt stand up well, epscially when low level cam into the game.Please keep in mind these are late 40's designs, late 30 designs were spitfires, P51 etc.The plan to have 3 and actually 1 spare design was deliberate.
