After the collision of a Shenyang F-8 with a Lockheed EP-3 at the chinese
boarder on 1st of April 2001, there was the story, that the reason may have been,
that the chinese fighter pilot just wanted to have a closer look at such a mag, shown
to him by the Aries crew. :-\

Well, in 2001 the iPad still was something from the future, at least
for normal consumers. And that kind of literature is said to have been
shown to soviet bomber crews, too, when they were intercepted by
US or british fighters. About the collision in 2001 another theory was,
that the chinese pilot tried to show his email adress to the US crew, to
get in contact and there were photos around of similar incidents !
