Helicopter Design by Ludger Volpert

Here is a mention for Henschel helicopter;

(Les Ailes, 1 st of June, 1946)

Re: Helicopter Design by Ludger Volpert

Sorry, but I cannot find any mention in that article, that it was in fact a project from
Henschel.

- There's the name "Henschel", but in the context, that "during the war, a helicopter
of the type was realised, the Henschel, ...". That may be wrong, as not even the
author of that article was sure about, as he wrote ".. as we believe, because one of our
correspondents, deported to a forced labour camp, saw one flying at Berlin-Johannisthal ..."
Henschel had a production site there, that could explain that mistake.

- Steve Coates doesn't mention any helicopter from Henschel, nor does a quick search
in other sources brought a result for activities by Henschel in this field.

- Ludger Volpert held several patents, but I couldn't find a connection to Henschel.

Re: Helicopter Design by Ludger Volpert

The article`s author wasn`t sure and the eyewitness was most certainly refering to a Flettner design. Flettner was also located at Berlin-johannisthal. I don`t know much on Henschel`s helicopters besides their patents and a mention to the manufacture of a prototype, for which some metal was cut, but the rotor system was different from Flettner`s or even Volpert`s, of which I did not know either.

Re: Helicopter Design by Ludger Volpert

OK my dears,

but we can't say Henschel didn't work on a helicopter,we heard about P.77 ?.

Re: Helicopter Design by Ludger Volpert

hesham, you wrote, that this helicopter is a Henschel design, and that's not
verifiable by that article, to my opinion !
Perhaps a native French speaker could help ?

Re: Helicopter Design by Ludger Volpert

Steven Coates mentioned the Henschel P.77. The article`s author wrote "Nous croyons", "we believe", so I wouldn`t take it for certain.

Re: Helicopter Design by Ludger Volpert

Yep ! You're right, found it (OCR is just as good as the original scan, I think), but ....
it was designed by Alois Riedl, apart from the Henschel P.77 mentioned as a high-
altitude bomber here https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=12373.0,

Nevertheless, as you said, I wouldn`t take it for certain, too ! ::)

Re: Helicopter Design by Ludger Volpert

OK my dears,I convinced.

Re: Volpert Twin-Rotor Helicopter Project of 1946

Sorry for me asking,

did we confirm he was Ludger Volpert ?, just question.

Re: Volpert Twin-Rotor Helicopter Project of 1946

OK my dear Jemiba,

I just check, because they mentioned in the article; Netherland.

Re: Volpert Twin-Rotor Helicopter Project of 1946

All the patents for Ludger Volpert on Google are German. That makes me think Ludger Volpert was German. His name sounds German, not Dutch, but he/his family may have emigrated.
