Hi,

does anyone know this VFW H 1 one man helicopter ?.

Bonjour

The VFW H.1 was a single seat conventional helicopter offered to the army , but refused because not innovative enough .

I don't have illustration for the H.1 , only the H.2 ...

Helicopter : it had combustion chambers at the rotor's tip .

Combustion chambers... Hmmm... Was it another ramjet-tip helicopter, as Hiller's Hornet (HOE/H32)?

A.

The McCulloch engine drives the two blades propeller AND a compressor which supplies air to the rotor's tip combustion chamber , where it is mixed with fuel .
It is the very same principle as the late war WNF-Doblhoff 342
