Given that the 4.5" Mk8 and the 5"Mk45 were roughly equivalent, therefore changing the gun to the same 5"/62 as on the Type 26 should not present a problem, although the likelihood of it taking place is as likely as finding rocking horse pooh. As for fitting the additional VLS cells, I was under the impression that they were to be fitted in the space between the existing cells; which seems a rather awkward arrangement, it would seem to me it would have been more logical to have mounted the VLS across the beam rather than lengthways, that could have left sufficient space for an extra 4 eight cell units.
