A combination of the Dorand VTOL Mailplane (see http://modelarchives.free.fr/Bestiaire/DVTOL_P/index.html),
or the Laufer Ve-Ro craft and the Fairchild Packplane !
I can imagine, that weight distribution and flight stability during transition are
a bigger problem in single rotor/prop designs.
