The type of boat used has not been revealed yet.
Analysts may not think it’s a game changer, but if it’s now more likely such missiles are intercepted over the Black Sea, it forces russia to either change tactics or simply more missiles get intercepted if they don’t.

Vampire is just a mounting kit for the APKWS, which is just a laser seeker on a Hydra 70, with a range of under 5,000m when helicopter launched, so probably significantly less when surface launched. It's engagement range is simply too small for it to have a major effect on tactics.

Basically the Ukrainians got lucky, or the Russians got lazy and used a predictable track.

Depends on how many kits they have, how many boats they’ve put them on, and how many reloads they have.

If the Russians have been using predictable launch routes, and the Ukrainians can indeed preempt them, that would by definition require a Russian change of tactics if they want to be successful.
