Hi,

in 1959,the Air Ministry issued a competition for VTOL strike recce aircraft,
the tenders were English Electric P.31 and Gloster P.505,I don't know if
there was anther contenders or not,but I ask for more info about those
two projects.

Hi,

the P.31 was VTOL strike recce aircraft project with vectored
thrust concept and swivelling lift jets.

It could be GOR.345 ?.

No. English Electric P.31 and Gloster P.505 were to GOR.2 for a strike-recce aircraft. That Wiki list gives this as a "VTOL" competition.
But, actually, GOR.2 was for a V/STOL design which assumed primarily aerodynamic lift for take-off. [1]

GOR.2 was also linked to SHAPE (which, in turn, suggests a larger US-funded NATO effort). A non-British design linked to GOR.2 was the Dassault Mirage IIIV ... which tells you that GOR.2 fed into NBMR-3.

The Royal Air Force and the European Union 1950-1980, Glen Segel, pg 186

Gloster Aircraft since 1917 (pg 400), Derek N. James, pg 400, identified the P.505 as a "STOL tactical strike reconnaissance aircraft to GOR.2" but it is unclear whether the "P.507 VTOL strike reconnaissance aircraft" was at all related.
