Agreed!I suspect that these stories of Australian basing of BS had much more to do with Aussie false perceptions of their vulnerability. I remember some time ago coming across documents in the Australian National Archives in Canberra that recorded Australian jitteryness when the US proposed to supply dual-key nuclear-armed SAMs to Japan, and again when JDS subs made routine courtesy visits to Sydney.
