Twin-tailed F-111

Sorry don't know if this is the right forum but was there any consideration of a twin tailed F-111 instead of the single vertical tail during the design process.

Sorry don't know if this is the right forum but was there any consideration of a twin tailed F-111 instead of the single vertical tail during the design process.

I have never seen any, but that doesn't mean they didn't think of it.
To the best of my knowledge, however, all the early designs and proposals had a single tail fin.

I'm think a twin tail design would be a bit easier to control as the engines are spaced a bit apart.

Absolutely. On first seeing the picture I wondered if I hadn't misplaced a Republic picture!
