According to the recollections of personnel from Taiwan's Air Force 34th Squadron, this type of Tu-4 was named "Shadow Aircraft" by the U.S. military at the time, and the modified radar was called "Mushroom."
 
The PLAAF vs ROCAF / CIA air war was pretty wild and weird... almost got B-17s dueling with Tu-4s ! Air battles between Boeing WWII bombers, WDF.
