In end of 1970s the Bundeswehr issue the Transportpanzer 1 Fuchs
The Dutch Army show interest in Fuchs but as Armoured Troop Carrier in 1980s
So they build the TPz 1 Fuchs 8x8 prototype for Dutch.
The TPz 1 Fuchs 8x8 BTR was longer as 8 m with a width of about 3 m and a height (on the roof of the 2,3 m).
Weight now exceeded 19 t, the combat weight — would more than 20 t.
The maximum speed on the highway now did not exceed 85-90 km/h.
Its also amphibious like 6x6 with speed of 8-10 km/h.
it had to replace the BTP YP-408 and was alternative to YPR-756.
In layout the Fuchs 8x8 similar like original Fuchs 6x6 but aft part is for 16 troopers and their equipment.
But equip is fuchs 8x8 with torret with 25-mm Oerlikon KBA-B02 automatic cannon and a rifle caliber machine gun.
additional weapons consisted of six smoke grenade launchers
and Block grenade launchers unchanged borrowed from the base armored personnel carrier.
I have no information why the Dutch Army not take the TPz 1 Fuchs 8x8
the Prototype without Turret is store at Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 41 (WTD 41) in Trier (germany)
