There are, of course, excellent reasons for that kind of response from regulators.

Reminds of an anecdote related to crazy whacky Nigel Mansell. One of my favorite, ever, F1 pilot: an explosive mix of craziness, absurd jinx, and raw talent. He could be irresistible or a total nutcase, remember Canada GP 1991, when he stalled in the last corner to victory ? ROTFLMAO.


The Scuderia's lawyer Henry Peter went to the Isle of Man, to the home of the Briton, who announced that he had concocted a "little surprise" for him to celebrate the event. He made him wait for a good hour before taking him into his garden. Mansell asked Peter to look up at the sky. The jets of the Red Arrows, the famous Royal Air Force patrol, then cut through the clouds and passed over the driver's home. "This is an important day. The greatest British driver is tying his destiny to the greatest Formula 1 team!" proclaimed Nigel, delighted with his effect, before signing the famous contract. Back in Italy, the astonished lawyer did not fail to repeat that Mansell had summoned the RAF to greet his arrival at Ferrari. Six months later, he would learn that the Red Arrows, on maneuvers, passed over the Isle of Man every day, at a fixed time...
