In early 1943, the idea of an unmanned reconnaissance vehicle was born by equipping a radio-controlled heavy load carriers with a television camera. Then, for the experiment, a modified Borgward B IV of version A was fitted with a "TONNE P" type television camera. Directed by the lead tank equipped with a "SEEDORF P" television receiver. The transmitter and receiver operated in the VHF range (about 80 MHz). Several extensive tests were carried out at the Panzer-Versuchs- und Ersatz-Abteilung 300 (Fkl), but the results were not satisfactory, as many failures were detected on the equipment hardware when the vehicle driving off-road.
