Were aircraft really packed so tightly in the hangars? Does anyone have photographic evidence to prove it? In that drawing the two Crusaders at the back look like they'd hit the one in the middle if they were moved onto the lift.Most of the photo's I've seen of British aircraft carrier hangars have the aircraft in rows of two or three abreast with little or no staggering and bigger clearances than shown above.
