In 1935, the firm Hispano Argentina Fábrica de Automobiles S.A, which formerly assembled Hispano Suiza (Spain) sedans and trucks produced a 75.p. diesel engine of its own design and began production of Lycoming gasoline engines under license. These were employed by the Criollo truck, a 4 x 4 and eventually by a larger model, known colloquially as "Criollo Grande" which mounted a150 h.p. diesel of its own design own design. Furthermore, on the chassis of the smaller Criollo truck the firm produced an armored car, which according to a report dated June 1940 by the U.S. Military Attaché entered limited production, and only six were completed. One of these can be seen on theh picture from the left, amidst Crossley mod. 1926 armored cars.
