...holy mother of god, I always wondered if something like this existed. Actually floated the idea in a thread for alt-history Cold War weapons on another site, with the idea that you could very probably fling a nuclear shell from the L9A1/M135 165mm demolition gun used on the Centurion AVRE and M728 CEV. Regular HESH rounds for those weighed around 65lbs, with a bit of development you could fit a warhead in the 1-1.5 kiloton range into a suitable size (the W54 is too wide but light enough, a W82 is 155mm and 95lbs with an attached rocket assist motor).

But with a 15" gun? The possibilities are absolutely insane. The 8" W33 was capable (by somewhat mysterious means) of a max yield of 40 kilotons in a package just under 250lbs and half as wide as the bore on this concept. This is some pure Fallout/Red Alert shit, immediately subscribing to that Patreon @flateric linked to dig through in the future.
