One of the numerous screw ups by postwar British defence spending was the fate of HMS Swiftsure and Superb.

Older readers may remember them from the Triang Minic ships metal waterline range.

If things had been different they might have been useful units for the Far East or early helicopter carrying ships.

As there has been a lot of discussion about fitting Seaslug and Type 984 to RN ships I thought I would resurrect this old thread.
At worst the two could have been given a helo deck aft.

So, you're thinking about a conversion comparable to the Galveston- or Providence-class? Remove the aft gun turrets and replace with Sea Slug?

Or one more comparable to the Albany-class, removing all heavy guns and replacing with missile launchers?

The Little Rock conversions seem more within UK budgets.
Other threads have looked at the NIGS ship. This would have been closer to the Albanys in appearance (Macks feature in Escort Cruiser drawings).
