I am baffled by this subject. The USN has over 30 modern nuclear attack submarines at its disposal against a Chinese Navy with no operational ASW experience and a handful of noisy SSNs. You can then add the Japanese MSDF with its modern silent conventional subs.Any large assembly of Chinese vessels can be sunk quickly and with no need to use surface assets or carrier airpower.It took most of the best ASW assets in NATO to counter the Soviet Northern Fleet's noisy SSNs.
