I have serious suspicion that 3000km figure is indeed on internal fuel... with a soft tank in the main bay.We have 1 substantially more efficient engine here, on a (likely) much lighter airplane.+Such short range wasn't the plan for the Mig-29 originally, it was the result of failure to develop necessary composite parts back in the late 1970s. It isn't a problem anymore (certainly not a problem on paper)
