Strange project for Blackhawk

Any idea if that was a real concept rather than fan art? ???

To critically examine and analyze current U.S. Military field operations and doctrine with the objective to develop and support the implementation of such changes that will improve performance, survivability and the overall effectiveness of U.S. and Allied air, sea and land-based forces and operations.

the maker propose better U.S. Military Hardware and Tactics
like this Heavylift helicopter for Infantry Tanks

another weird concept from Combatreform nutbags

The 'light tank' under the Blackhawk's belly looks if it were the German Wiesel light tracked vehicle, don't you think?

Piotr was right, it is a Wiesel. Mike Sparks is keen on anything air-mobile and tracked when, even in his imagination, some Über 'Gavin' can't fill the role.

Sparky also came up with a more plausible variation on this Black Hawk concept -- a modernized Skycrane based on CH-53 dynamics.

The vehicle is indeed the German Wiesel. The concept was actually taken from some of the work that led to the Blackhawk fire bomber that is used in California. The intent was to improve the low altitude maneuverability of a laden Blackhawk over sling load work which is not good at all. It was really nothing more than a drawing to bring about discussion. Actually it did not come from Mike Sparks. In 1998-2001 The Air Mech Strike Studies Group boasted three General Officers, a multitude of Field Grade Officers and a number of retired officers. Sparks was a member of the Group and actually did a lot of valuable work. After the concept was somewhat accepted within the Army community much of the Group went on its way. Mike, not one for waiting continued to press more vocally for immediate change, naively expecting cost reductions for change systems.

- Mr. Weasel?
- I have told you, that my name is Weisel!
