A PARACHUTE FOR AN AIRPLANE
American manufacturers of military aircraft offered to supply fighter jets and other aircraft with special parachutes, which
are designed to bring the aircraft out of a tailspin.,
The parachute is located behind the pilot in the fairing and when the handle in front of the pilot is turned, the spring is ejected and the air flow opens.
In military aviation, it is not uncommon for aircraft to crash and people to die due to the inability to bring the aircraft out of a tailspin. In this case, the parachute that opens from behind, according to the designer's idea, should lift the tail of the aircraft, thus bringing it out of the tailspin.
The parachute, folded below, takes up very little space.(Translation.)
Spin recovery parachutes were tested by NACA on the Boeing P-26 and the FB-4. This testing effort may be where the Russians obtained their information.
Below is the installation of the spin chute of the FB-4. Also the attached paper.
