SR 175 wasn't a contest exactly - that 'SR' was for Study Requirement. [1] So, what you have hear is a list of firms that completed/submitted V/STOL, VTOL, and/or STOL concept studies to the USAF for a future 'Tri-Service Transport'.

[1] It seems that this has always been a bit obscure - a US National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) listing put SR 175 under 'Missiles' of all things!
