i have seen this photo of a Spanish Navy SH-3D or H:

if you notice properly, the nose is modified and has that blade antenna; there is also that pipe running below the right pilot's window.

anyone can shed light on this particular model?

Built as a SH-3D with c/n 61-370 in 1967, converted into SH-3G and then SH-3H.
Embedded with the Spanish Navy as Armada 01-505 Z.9-5 MAP BuNo 153536.

On another site its c/n is given as 61-375, built 18 February 1967 as a SH-3D (converted into a G) and written off on the 13-07-99 due to a crash (with 2 fatalities).

There are apparently a lot of scale models and decal kits for this particular example.

Regarding that blade antenna on the nose and the handrail near the pilot's door, I don't see them in any of the numerous photos of this aircraft or its contemporaries. I suspect they are errors by the model maker.

Thanks for your informative replies.

it is strange why this kit maker decided to put these features (nose blade antenna, bulged nose below windscreen, 'handrail' below left cabin window) on this model.

i think this calls for some more (re)search...maybe our Spanish friends can enlighten us about this aircraft

regards

Its the Cyberhobby SH-3D Sea King kit, it started out as a Westland Sea King HC4 and Sea King AEW2, but the dopey people who created the kit then did a SH-3 family with not a lot of research as they included elements from the specific British versions on every kit they issued !!!
