Solar Impulse grounded until 2016 (BBC News)

Shame they burnt their batteries, but considering the difficulties of adequate passive thermal control, not much of a surprise. They could just go on the assumption that every hard flight will require battery replacement and simply buy more. Since they are waiting until 2016 anyways, next generation of batteries may become available as well.
