Ongoing efforts at the NRM museum in the Netherlands, to digitize a substantial photographic archive, resulted in finding a rare image of a SNECMA - SEP (Hyperspace) concept of a combined-cycle "Turbo-Ram-Rocket" engine. See the attached image. Credit: SEP.
SNECMA, SEP and ONERA studied combined cycle propulsion systems for some time since 1986. The studies were sponsored by the French space agency CNES. The results of these studies were presented at the Propulsion and Energetics Panel, 75th Symposium, held in Madrid, Spain, 28th May to 1st June, 1990. See pages 101 to 111 in the linked PDF file.
