Who'd have thought that lumps of interplanetary space rock would be falling so slowly..

& not be glowing incandescent/smoking from atmospheric friction?

Something that small, especially if relatively low density (stony rather than metal) would stand a good chance of being subsonic by that point.

Still, hoax is a good possibility.

Notably, this event happened a couple of years ago and seems to have been reviewed pretty closely by scientists who were hoping to recover the object.

And yes, they did consider the possibility that the rock was actually packed into the chute.
