Nice find. According to the various sources I've read over the years, the designation S-50 was eventually allocated to the Army's R-5.

S-46 = VS-300
S-47 = VS-300A
S-48 = VS-316A (Army R-4, Navy HNS)
S-49 = VS-316B (Army R-6, Navy HOS)
S-50 = VS-327 (Army R-5 to R-5E, Navy HO2S)
S-51 = Army H-5F/G/H, Navy HO3S
