This was a Skip Holm and Yakovlev project to create a supersonic prop aircraft in some part of the envelope. The picture shows the initial design. The final design was a bit different.

I have the final design somewhere in my files. It was significantly different - lost the Su-27 look. As far as the powerplants, they were not Russian. They were American as you can get - a pair of inline V-8s. The props were very, very unique and still proprietary. They were the brain child of Sergie Yakovlev.
