SIAI-Marchetti Projects and Prototypes

Via my dear Skybolt,

here is a SIAI SM.106 ;

TRANSPORT ASSORTED
As is evident from this brief review , the majority of the project activity SIAI- Marchetti (but also of other
enterprises aeronautical Italian ) in the period 1945-50 is referring to aircraft freight or mixed freight-
passenger . In a general sense this trend was based on the general conditions in the disaster , for the
events of the war , roads and railways national , which could push for a replacement with air links ,
favorites also by the large number of airports built during the two decades . This of course presupposes
planes of cost.An example of these projects is the cost of transport SM -106 (Figure 12 ) of 1947-48 .
The idea of behind it was to reuse the wood of the SM -95 wing and a fuselage constructed in the
traditional way ( lattice frame in welded steel pipes , casing in aluminum panels and canvas cover ) for
carry a cargo plane with a payload of more than 5 tons and a range of the engines were 1600 km of
classic Pratt & Whitney S1C3 -G , the civilian version of a standard R- 1830 engines of the DC-3 .
Marchetti had already taken during the war by the way of the derivative load the SM -95 with a
series of preliminary projects designated by the initials SM -96 , which, as the SM-106, nothing came
of it .

And these are my two cents. I'm trying to replicate it in 3d using Blender 2.8.
