Hi,


the Shorts-450 was a high-wing medium transport aircraft project,developed from
Shorts-360,and could accommodated 44 to 49 passenger,and powered by two 1550
hp turboprop engines.

I wasn't aware that Shorts was working on extending the 360 further, into the 45 seat range. I should have been paying more attention back in 1985. That new wing center section was very attractive.

The 450 is also featured in Richard Payne's 'Stuck on the Drawing Board'. Payne states the project was a joint venture with Embraer, but that the Brazilian firm decided not to collaborate on the project and the competition from other similar feederliners, especially the ATR-42, meant the 450 project was dropped at the end of 1985.

That's right my dear Hood,


the ATR-42 was modernized than Shorts-450.
 
Shorts 450 display model was in the possession of the Ulster Aviation Society back in 2012. This is in their hangar-museum at Long Kesh, Co Antrim.
