I think the best e bay deal I've gotten was Michael Whelan's Works of Wonder. The dealer listed it Buy It Now for $20.00 as used and she used the publisher's stock image of the cover art. As I was only looking for a copy to study his use of color while working on my paintings I figured it would be okay no matter what condition it was in. After paying the cost and a few dollars shipping the book arrived - still in the publisher's shrink-wrap. Had she described the condition correctly she could have gotten around $125 for it at that time.In terms of value today, my best Syd Mead find was a copy of Sentinel in a used bookstore for $12. Sentury, Studio Image 1 (Red) and Oblagon were purchased new when published.
