Both France and Russia have deployed self propelled Guns on main battle tank chassis while the US has done so up until the 1960s.
Britain, German and Italy tried to do the same thing with the SP70 and got it hopelessly wrong.
With the M109 and AS90 families needing replacement and Germany's PZH2000 proving rather hard to maintain what alternatives might have been developed with or without tank chassis.
Britain looked at mounting 25pounder and 5.5" guns on Centurion chassis but when NATO standardised on 105 and 155mm guns these were abandoned.
