But what about the story line?
On the planet Perdide happen massacre in Colony, by deadly "hornets"
the only two survivor escape in rover what crash
leaving the child Piel the only survivor with interstellar transceiver in his hands
oh the other side Jaffar hears what happen to best friend and try to guide Piel true Hostile Environment of Perdide.
with help of Silbad a space veteran. who know the danger of Perdide.

Only problem Jaffar and Silbad are on Space Ship bringing two passenger to the planet Gamma 10.
Those want hire mercenary to restore there rule over there Home planet and show no interest in Piel survival.
But on Gamma 10 problems really starts, while the Hornets on Perdide are close to find Piel...
will Jaffar and Silbad manage to reach Perdide in time ?

Michel, my apologies for my ambiguous query - when I posted my question, I had already read the synopsis at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Maîtres_du_temps and found it to be mind-numbingly stupid, so I wanted to gauge other's opinions on what I consider to be inane drivel.

In my opinion, all time travel stories seem the same: the authors focus on human relationships, on the disparity of customs (especially the most unpleasant ones) and on the philosophical impossibility of changing things through technology.

Authors (with the exception of Heinlein) often forget that if you have a time machine you can go back again and again to fix things.

No one takes into account navigation problems:

-Where was the solar system on the date of arrival?

-At what height and speed was the ground?, Why does the time capsule not fly?

-What was the difference in electrostatic potential?

-Virus?

-Bacteria?

-How does the transition affect DNA?

-How does the transition to synaptic pathways affect the brain? Are there no mismatches when changing from one plan of existence to another?

-Why send humans instead of sensors and robots? To make them suffer and provide cheap dramas when they are captured by the Nazis?

Justo, you forgot - how can you seduce your mother if you send just a robot? See Time Enough For Love.
My dear Aubi, in my culture it is not customary to seduce our mothers, but if in the future you have the means to seduce yours... well, the robot can carry your frozen DNA. It's not very nice but it can be done.;)

Hey, it's not my idea, it's Heinlein's idea. look up his book "Time Enough For Love". He got some ideas about time travel right, but this is mostly the stuff he was interrested in.
Of course in the next book his hero managed to save his mother (with whom he had an affair already in 1916) as an old lady from being hit by a car, transported her into the future, rejuvenated her and... let's say he did not sleep only with his young female clones and his self-conscious computer turned into a chick. And his old buddy's consciousness trasnferred into a cloned chick. And...

After his success among the hippies, Heinlein tried to prolong it by defending incest in case there was no genetic risk, but I think there is also a mental risk.
Victims of incest can experience a wide range of psychological problems, including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and difficulties in interpersonal relationships.
