there was the SAAB-1071 a four engined high wing STOL transport and could carried 40-passengers.

Here's another picture of the Saab 1073 and a 3-view of the Saab 1071 four engined
transport. The 1073 resembles a scaled down Transall C-161.

Not actually a 3-view, but a side view, showing the internal arrangement
and a drawing showing the planned terminal, with the 1073 from above.

Versions: Passenger (19 seats), Cargo (up to 2000 kg), Medevac, SAR, geophysic research
, agricutural and firebomber.

Powerplant: Continental TIARA T6-320 (4 engined version) or UACL PT6A-41 (twin engined version)


SAAB considered that CASA 212 was no rival for its design so it had a bright future.

Dear Chuck, here is a 3-view of the SAAB 1073 that I've found in an article in French about SAAB airliner projects including the SAAB 1071......

The article comes from the 15th May 1968 issue of Aviation Magazine International......
