Russian Tactical Aviation Since 2001: Yefim Gordon and Dmitriy Komissarov

Any idea if overall Russian tactics are/were documented/examined, or is the book mostly dedicated to the aircraft?

It is mainly about the aircraft and the organisation of Russian tactical aviation. A good read if you can find one now.

Thanks :). I'd have to find the video, but what arguably really hurt them purely from a technological standpoint was the decision to scrap all single-engine aircraft, including their most advanced version of The Mig-27 with the tv & electro-optical targeting system. The USSR had just fallen, so, okay, fine, get rid of the planes, but why not save arguably the most important part of the aircraft & put the avionics in storage until there was sufficient money to be able to install that technology on their Su-25s down the road? I mean, they only made 8 Su-25s with similar targeting ability, but, if Wiki is right, there were 200 MiG-27Ks produced, so...yikes.
