Guys, Royal Navy already have more carriers than it could maintain. It's problem was, that its surface combatant did not looks good in compairson with Sverdlov's, and its air defenses were pathetic to the point of nonexistence.Tiger's - more or less - could solve both problems, providing RN with at least SOMETHING to hide their rather slow, 25/28-knots carrier behind in case of surface actions (which was perfectly possible in Eastern Med), and SOMETHING to ward off Il-28T jet bombers. Yes, they weren't particularly good in either, and they came too late to be of much use (Project 57 destroyer could blow them out of water from standoff range, and Tu-16 with KS-1 missiles have no reason to even came in their range). But without them there would be literally nothing at all.
