Thats not true. DR IUCAV F-16 studies showed two important facts:1. The modifications of the F-16 into UCAS or dual role UCAS and its operational costs will be much costly than the development of the new design, from the beginning optimised for the unmanned use.2. There is no chance to modify F-16A/B into unmanned autonomous system in reasonable costs. If it be ever modified, it should be the latest versions, it means Block 50/52 and higher. And of course it has not any sense, because USAF now needs any usable modern fighter to survive the decreasing numbers of the vehicles.
