I've become curious about a human-powered ornithopter, which was mentioned in a mid-70s magazine article on human powered flight;

"Pteryx Butterfly," a 130-pound ​

ornithopter using "feathers" of porous ​

rayon filament cloth on music wire ​

hoops, under development in California.​
