There is conflicting info on this. A quick look at net sources claim that the fuselage pod was based on an F4U drop tank while an Air International description from c. 1981 states it was based on a P-38 drop tank.

Which was it?

I've always heard it was from the Corsair, and this September 1945 article from Air Trails Pictorial certainly confirms it.
