Dear Boys and Girls, here is an article in French about the Pilatus SB-2 Pelican STOL prototype which first flew on 30th May 1944......

The article comes from the 15th February 1968 issue of Aviation Magazine International......

Colleagues - as posted somewhere else in this forum already, I was working on a book telling the full story of the "Pelican" for the last two years. It is now completed, resulting in the (what I see) most voluminous book ever published about a Swiss aircraft: 252 pages - including about 180 photos and illustrations, 30 drawings, profiles. Te book also includes the information about the never built "Pilatus P-1", a trainer and naturally the SB-5 which should have fllowed the SB-2...

The book is kept in German language and can be found (for example) on Amazon.

Should anybody be interested in the Pilatus SB-1, SB-2 and SB-5 and also the "P-1" - the book is now available in the online bookshops.
 
Congratulations, seems like a terrific book. I wish i knew more than rudimentary German...

I was tempted to do the book in English language.... but decided to stay with German. It is definitely a "special interest" book and the majority of the (few) readers will possibly be found here in Switzerland. An English version would theoretically be possible though... one day....maybe :)

Such book will have a very limited success I am afraid. Luckily I do not need* it to be a commercial success - else I could not have started the project at all...

*...but I would not be unhappy if it would find its readers though ;-)
