All rotorcraft enthusiast
Hi friends.
A new helicopter is here - the NR550 Freighter. It is a single-seat coaxial helicopter designed by the team which previously was involved in development of other coaxial helicopters in Germany. The main person behind it is Mr Vitali Brandt (original spelling). Project is based in Germany.
As mentioned above, this is a single-seat coaxial helicopter, with tricycle landing gear, piston engine, and two side-mounted detachable cargo containers. There is a difference in this helicopter when you compare it to the other designs of that team, where the foot pedals for directional control in reality controlled only one swashplate (one rotor). This was a great simplification of the control system, but on the other hand, it pushed some work on the pilot to compensate for the overall lift change with the collective lever. In the NR550 helicopter, they went for the big-boys solution - pedals control both rotors' collective pitches simultaneously.
As for technical characteristics available so far, we know:
Total length: 7.7 m
Fuselage length: 6.3 m
Landing gear width (not track): 1.9 m
Height: 2.9 m
MTOW: 550 kg
Cargo Payload: 120 kg (in the containers)
Maximum horizontal flight speed (Vh): 190 km/h
Service ceiling: 5500 m
Hover (OGE): 3300 m
Range (without containers): 400 km
Range (with containers): 300 km
Flight endurance: 3.5 h
Powerplant: piston (Hirth, MwFly), electric
Variants:
The prototype has been built, and tests started (including tethered flights).
The development team is now actively looking for an investor who will help push the project into serial production (including its derivatives)
If you are or know such an interested entity, contact me and I will be able to connect you with the team.
My summary so far:

Variants:
- Prototype is a basic cargo version powered by a Hirth engine,
- The electric version is also already designed in which cargo containers will be used to store batteries,
- Envisioned is also a crop dusting version, where spray booms and chemical containers are mounted in place of the cargo containers (the team already has it drawn in CAD)
The prototype has been built, and tests started (including tethered flights).
