I wonder if someone out there can help me confirm or deny a suspicion that I have.
Attached are a couple of photographs from a visit I made to Air Atlantique in Coventry in April 1999.
The first shows Cessna 401C, G-EYES and behind, on the hangar shelving, are several airframes which look to me to be similar to the NAC-1 Freelance four-seat light aircraft.
The second shows one of the airframes in more detail. I think it resembles one of the production airframes of the NAC-1 Freelance (originally the BN-3 Nymph), but I am not sure.
Current records show that five incomplete fuselages are at Henstridge - see http://wight.hampshireairfields.co.uk/ndn.html
Bearing in mind that Desmond Norman moved his design agency from Bembridge to Coventry Airport, were the Freelance's ever stored at Coventry?
I know that up until his death on 13 November 2002 he had offices with Air Atlantique where he worked on pollution control equipment.
Many thanks in anticipation.
