That's a common orientation for pole-mounted radar testing. Not sure why.No.
Also why is it upside down?
So, like, the sky is at the bottom of the picture and the ground at the top. Even 'down under' this is regarded as upside down.
This is the correct orientation.View attachment 765076
That was probably the X-47B. It was moved back and forth across the country between testing at Edwards AFB, California, and NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. Lots of people took pictures and video and the craft (which was covered and had its wings removed), cling the government was transporting a flying saucer.I'm pretty sure this was posted somewhere on the forum when that image came out around 4 years ago.
I must have confused with another..but somewhere on the forum is a discussion on that and this one as well from when it popped up.As far as I’m aware this particular shape was not photographed at a gas station.
Yep it's on here somewhere, i remember it too, but damned if my google foo can find itI must have confused with another..but somewhere on the forum is a discussion on that and this one as well from when it popped up.
I've been told of an occasion when bored base engineering personnel knocked something together from wood and canvas and arranged for it to be 'accidentally' exposed to the spotter fraternity before being hurriedly dragged back inside the hangarRemember this from when it blew up on social medial (Tik tok?) as a 'classified aircraft leak'..only to have it then be spotted at several gas stations in New Mexico and Texas..or something like that.![]()
