Re: NEW USAF X-37 B, 1/48th resin kit from Stratosphere

Well, guys this is it ! My MOST detailled model kit yet ! (In terms of external details and quantity of panel lines).

After months of pestering people at Nasa and anyone i could find, i finally got the data for the authentic fuselage underside and wings underside heat tiles pattern for the X-37 USAF spaceplane and i updated the kit ! (The X-37 is in mission in orbit as we speak, apparently flying above Afghanistan, among other places).

It's a beautiful thing, Stephane!

I'm curious about the material you're carving the fuselage from. It seems translucent.

I look forward to seeing a painted example. Maybe, by that point, there will be pictures of the real item, back on the ground and reentry-toasted.

Hi Ian,

Thank you ! I used resin, it is a material that makes clean, beautiful panel lines when you scribe them, it makes it so much easier versus doing the same on styrene parts (i don`t use the 'claw' scribing tool, would not work too well on curved surfaces and for short scribed panel lines like this, so usually i use a compass point to scribe panel lines, much easier to do on the resin parts. And yes, the resin is transparent. But don't wait for a painted exemple, i am litterally swamped with work to do and projects to finish, and i usually (in normal time) don't even have the time to assemble and paint my own models (!) (or only exceptionally)(and i need an new airbrush, mine is broken, so, no painted models for a long time...). Actually, you might be the first one to paint one :)
