I'm currently translating old aviation film from around the world into Japanese language.

Now, I'm translating old American film about F6F called "Grumman at War".

However, there are a few things I don't understand, so I thought I'd ask here, where there are many native English speakers

2. To me (another non-native) it sounds as either "a little trying" or a "little tiring". The first one does not make sense to me.
3."This" in this case refer to the check up. They are good at the checking
4. It's"neater". "Did you ever see a neater folding wing?" In the sense of better looking, better working.
5. If someone literally forget some of his working tools inside th wing, they would bounce inside at that moment and would be found.
6. To me it sounds like "Worried? Not even a bit, I'm darn sure."
7. Skill as capability of the people who designed and built "him".

13.Seems to be “Or engine cowling, landing gear struts.”
14. Probably just a name of a nursery operated by Grumman for the children of its employees.

1. "Chutney's crew" would appear to be a 'nickname' for a person. Eric Brown for example was nicknamed "Winkle" after the crustacean due to his being 'small of stature'.

"Its a little trying" - means difficult or annoying

"These guys are good at this " (Chet and his crew are good at maintaining the aircraft)

4.What does "eater" mean at 2:26 in the video?

"Did you ever see a neater folding wing?" (neater in the US meaning of very good; excellent)

5.What does "if a guy should forget some of his tools Now's the Time to find out" mean at 2:40 in the video?

They are checking to make sure no tools were accidentally left inside the plane - it's better to find out now rather than when the plane is flying.

6.Are you sure what the narrator says after "worried" at 3:00?

"Worried? Not a bit I'm darn sure" - US expression, darn/darned is euphemism for damn/damned, it just mean's "I'm very sure".

7.What does "skill" mean at 3:23 in the video?

"all along the line, It was skill that made me" - me here is the aircraft, all along the production process, it was the skill / expertise of the designers/workers that created this aircraft

8.What does "a ship that comes in slower" mean at 5:09 in the video?

"ship" throughout this bit refers to the aircraft - pilots want lower landing speed, leading to new flap design.

9.What does "husky landing gear" mean at 5:15 in the video?

"Husky" meaning "big and strong" possibly.

10.What does "You untried" mean at 7:37 in the video?
"New, untried" - its a new aircraft, not yet flown, about to make its first flight

11.What narrator says "You ??? about anymore no sir not you" at 11:32 in the video?

"You aren't earthbound any more, no sir not you"

12.What narrator says "??? that all the things they designed..." at 11:59 in the video?

"In fact, you learn that all the things they designed"

Its just listing various components going into the finished aircraft that we see being made.

"Leak? No, just a loose fitting"

"Part 24000-002 is added" - its the part number

17.What does "slightest flow" mean at 27:43 in video?

"slightest flaw" - to show up even the smallest imperfections

18.What does "homework." mean 36:50 in the video?

"homeward" - towards home

Totally agree... So, Checking by a native speaker is a MUST.
Luckily, I have reliable native speakers of German and Russian among my friends, but I didn't have any for English, so I had to ask here.
