Fokker Airliner Projects

Hi,

we have an idea about postwar Fokker airliner aircraft and projects,
such as F-26 was low wing aircraft,P.275 high wing 32-seat airliner
which was later given the designation F-27,P.335 was a new design
from F-27, the F-28 was jet airliner and F-29 was developed from
F-27; did you hear about F-290 and F-410 before ?.

A jet-powered F-27? Seems there were quite a few jet conversions of turboprop aircraft under study but few seem to have taken to the air (Beech PD290 and the Dornier 328JET being the only ones I can think of right off the top of my head at the moment........). I'd love to know more about this design.

The jet powered Friendship was an early seventies study for a twin turbofan Commuter.
Powered by two Avco Lycoming ALF 502 turbofans.

Designation : P.305 Commuter.

Resemblance to the VFW 614 stopped further deveopment..

Don't know if it's been posted before, but this is the proposed Fokker F-26 Phantom. I believe it's the first jet airliner proposal/design ever, but that might just as well be a myth-to-be-busted. Nice design though - definately cabin noise wasn't an issue...

I guess this is as great a place to put it, Rekkof released a rendering of their F-100 Next Gen, reportedly has a new wing and other changes. Probably never going to be built, realistically....

Korstar Airlines, a new South Korean discount airline, announced on April 6th that it has agreed with Panta Holdings of the Netherlands to lease three Fokker 100 airliners by January 2009 and swap them with three new production Fokker 100s from 2010. The head of planning at Korstar said there are other customers of this new Fokker 100, although he does not know who they are.

Hmmm, well ain't that something, though it faces very stiff competition from the ARJ 21, Sukhio 100, Embraer ERJs and the Bombardier C-series (and even the larger CRJs) before the above little computerized model was even released.


I don't want to say I hope Rekkof is doomed to failure, though. If they can secure even just this one launch order, they're doing quite well for the time being

The new 70 and 100 look pretty interesting with good range and interiors. If the price is right you never know as the originals were popular and well liked.

That is a picture of the McDonnell Douglas MD-100 that was developed, manufactured, and marketed as the McDonnell Douglas MD-11.

Frustrating because the aircraft was designated the Fokker F.29 and not the Fokker F-29, so I didn't have any hits when I searched. I searched F29 and F.29, never occurred to me to search for F-29. It is not my intention to create duplicate topics in the forum. Can a moderator move the new material to the existing "Fokker airliner projects" topic?
