Hi forum,

this unusual thing also waits to get a proper name. Although its very unique shape, nobody was able to identify it yet. Maybe it is not a flyable aircraft at all, but only a mockup or model.

If you know it, please tell us.

Thank you for every answer, and best regards,
RT

Sorry, DWG, I forgot to state that I could not reconstruct the picture source at Air-Britain.com. Thanks for understanding.

Manufacturer
David A Myers

If you were a visitor to Oshkosh back in 1988 you couldn't help noticing a very "unique" concept flying vehicle called the Orbitair. The design by David Myers featured a "circular wing design" which David applied for a patent on and received in 1991.

Over the last 10 years the "Orbitair" has undergone some very extensive design changes. To date a total of six different designs have featured the "circular wing."

Hi Southwestforest,

thank you for answering. First, I kept on being sceptical on what you stated. But further research showed that you are right. The picture I look for shows the Myers (or Meyers) Orbitair Glider. Trouble is, Myers did not properly distinguish his different aircraft.

See Weird Wings.

Best regards,
RT

“Tiara” would be a good name for ring-wing designs like this—and Ori ships from STARGATE (those should be Ancient ships though—Ori having Warhammer designs).
