On the following forum ( http://www.reaa.ru/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1124882379/60) on the Monino Air Force Museum's restoration works, are presented several photos of a tailless glider airframe referenced as MAI-63,
but the photo and drawing of the original MAI-63 glider (from the book "Letatyelnyye Apparaty MAI" by Makarov) show a quite different wing shape.

Any clue about the identity of this airframe and its history?

Thanks in advance,

My dear Retrofit,

we opened a topic for MAI aircraft with MAI-63 before;
http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,4168.msg33195.html#msg33195

I know my dear Hesham,
But I am still not sure about the airframe identity: i.e. different center body's shape, external wing sections with an unregular trailing edge, different wing tips with a marked dihedral.
"Only" the wing's strait leading edge sweep and the wing fences are similar.
It seems to be a mix between the MAI-63 and the MAI-68.
Or perhaps it is the modified MAI-63M but without its engine system.
Needs to be confirmed.

If it is the case, this post could indeed be merged with the one mentioned by Hesham.
